The Power of Clean Living: How to Transform Your Mind, Body, and Business.
We live In a society that celebrates working long hours in exchange for monetary
success, often compromising our physical and mental wellbeing. As a result, clean living
has become a much talked about and practiced topic for transformation.
This transformation, however, does not come from hoping and wishing things were
different; it takes practice, consistency, determination and self awareness in order to
shift personal and limiting mindsets into something powerful. It takes intentionality to
transform your mind, body and business and with clean living, that change is possible.
This article highlights individuals who have done just that and how have turned their
lives and businesses around. And beyond the fads and misinformation from social
media, clean living delves far deeper than the “trends” shared as it is a cultural
movement and incredibly successful industry; it has become a holistic lifestyle
movement that has incredible impact on the body, mind, and soul.
The medical and scientific foundations of clean living show benefits with reduced risks
of chronic diseases and illnesses, (i.e. diabetes, heart diseases, certain forms of
cancer) according to the Harvard School of Public Health.
There are also many mental health benefits to clean living due to the anti-inflammatory
properties in clean foods that go hand in hand with decreasing cognitive fog and
depression as well as increasing endorphin levels, improved sleep and reduced anxiety
from regular movement.
Additionally, toxin reduction plays a crucial role in clean living as many synthetic beauty
products and household plastic items have phthalates and parabens as well as
endocrine disrupting chemicals which are scientifically connected to hormonal
imbalances, according to the Environmental Working Group.
When all individual concepts of clean living are applied collectively, it creates synergistic
effects that have been studied and shown to enhance longevity, emotional regulation
and resilience. This holistic approach is now practiced by physicians and is the
foundation of lifestyle medicine to reverse cognitive decline, chronic diseases and
certain forms of cancer.
My sister, Nadia Sawaf, who used to struggle with anxiety and depression did not
always have the easiest time managing her mental and physical health. She struggledpost graduation, comparing her life to that of her peers and her outlook on life had
fragile and low vibrational tendencies.
The uncertainty of her future and the loneliness she felt in her life led her to a downward
path. However, once she turned to therapy, meditation, energy clearing, gratitude
practices, dietary shifts, regular movements and exercise along with newfound hobbies
and interests, she experienced a significant transformation in her life.
“The worst thing a person can do is compare… I learned after graduation that you can
not look at other people and how they are doing. They might have entirely different
interests and goals than you, and at the end of the day you never know what the person
you are comparing yourself to is going through.” Sawaf stated.
Furthermore, Sawaf reported her food choices had a direct negative impact on her
mental health. She tested different food groups and found herself intolerant to gluten
which in turn had a direct correlation to mood swings, brain fog and increased anxiety
levels. From there, her research extended and she found a severe allergy to not just
gluten but also dairy and other processed foods.
The connection between cognitive prosperity and foods are directly linked to one
another as 90% of serotonin is produced in the gut and is said to be a person’s “second
brain”.
Sawaf also noticed as her physical activity increased, her mental stability did also.
The scientific basis of physical motion and mental clarity work cohesively. Movement
improves circulation, lymphatic detoxification and increases your metabolism.
Additionally, it acts as a natural antidepressant and reduces the risk of chronic diseases.
According to the CDC, World Health Organization, and American Heart Association,
“Just 30 minutes of moderate exercise a day can reduce the risk of premature death by
20–30%.”
The change she experienced was not instantaneous but rather progressive. Little by
little she noticed the habits she implemented into her daily routine is what made her
transformation quite significant. It took a couple years to reach the point at which she is
at right now, but with these intentional changes, her light and energy returned at an
incredible rate, and now feels more balanced and focused and reported better mental
health and overall, has felt more her.“We were quite fortunate to have an outlet, our good friend and mentor, Angelika
Fuerstler, a well-known expert in clean living in Europe, who guided us through the
transformation to clean living.” Sawaf remarked.
With the recent rise in mental health issues and increased cancer rates (in even young
people), it has become clear that businesses such as the one founded by Fuerstler
have become a global necessity and a rising trend.
Her latest project titled “High-Vibe Academy”, launched last year with over 150
participants. The demand for this industry is clear as with only being in the second year
of her program, she has already formed an ever-increasing waitlist for new interested
participants to enter.
“Everything is energy. Your business is an extension of your energy. The more coherent,
pure and powerful your energy the more successful you will be. It’s not necessarily
about changing things on the outside in the material world with lots of struggle - change
the energy inside of yourself. See what “mud” comes up that stands in between you and
your dream life and dive deep into it.” Fuerstler stated.
In addition to “High-Vibe Academy”, Fuerstler has been teaching participants all over
the world how to grow nutritious and clean foods in the comfort of their own homes. Her
online programs, conventions and summits as well as speaking engagements at large
European conventions have catapulted her business to the top and is now a 7 figure
enterprise, and is continuing to grow.
Fuerstler attributes her success to not only having a lasting impact with lives she's
transformed, but she also gives back to leave this world a better place. She has done
work with different international non-profit organizations to plant corals in an effort to
save the ocean and humanity.
Her business goes to show that when reason and passion take the lead, profit will follow
in the right way and industries rooted in ethical and genuine impact can prosper.
Revenue is ultimately just the byproduct of this business as the real success is the
lasting change in people’s lives that hold the greatest value.
Mila Shmurak, Reiki master, mother of four, business entrepreneur and founder of
“WOMENEEDZ” shared her inspiration and guiding principles that led her to her calling
of healing, education and community building.Shmurak’s mission and mantra is to connect women through healing, knowledge and
mindfulness. Her business includes programs like home and space energy clearing,
sound baths, reiki energy healing with red light therapy, crystals and gua sha as well as
many other treatments and workshops. With any work she does, it is balanced around
spiritual, emotional and physical care.
The work with her business and with the community is led by her guiding belief that
women heal when they are supported, connected and seen. She encourages not only
women but many others and reminds them that mindfulness and gratitude is the easiest
and biggest way to stay grounded and achieve inner peace amidst a world of chaos and
toxins.
“When you remind yourself of the things that are happy or that you are grateful for, you
start to notice visible change every day and you start to feel happier and more in touch
with your life.” Shmurak stated.
As her business continues to grow and prosper, she remarked the profit is a byproduct
of her company and the real success is the lives she transformed through energy
transformation.
“Staying true to yourself and your morals is the biggest role in keeping the integrity of a
business as it continues to grow and the industry becomes more commercialized and
profitable.”
Your body is an ever-changing cycle connected by your mind, body and soul.
Implementing clean living is a scientific, individual and spiritual movement and
addresses the mental and physical needs of society. It encourages people to not only
look forward in life but also inward to reflect and act intentionally every single day, doing
things that aligns with long-term well-being.
Whatever the goal is, whether it is healing deep-rooted trauma, nurturing yourself and
others, or building a values and moral-driven business, clean living is the blueprint for
transforming your cycle – the mind, body and soul.
